Covid-19 has taught us there are homes that we should avoid because of the inconveniences and potential dangers they have during a pandemic. The 3 types of homes we should avoid to buy or rent are:
1) Shoebox Units;
2) Overseas Homes; and
3) Co-living Homes.

Hi, may I know whether you have ever lived in a shoebox apartment or not? I have lived with my wife in a shoebox apartment and I have done cooking Everyday and it is fitted with washer and dryer to do my laundry. It can fit a queen sized bed with closet space available for clothing. Dining table with a size of 4-6 can be fitted in the living area as well. So, I don’t understand why the comments made about shoebox made by you is totally different from what I have personally experienced with my wife.

And you can jump right onto your bed after opening the bedroom door, right? That’s what I used to do while living in a less than 400 sq ft apartment in Hong Kong. Check out my interesting experiences of staying there in my old blog post “So you want a shoebox unit?” -> https://www.propertysoul.com/2010/12/22/so-you-want-a-shoebox-unit
I am grateful that I no longer have to stay in shoebox units after coming to Singapore. Many in Hong Kong have no choice because of their budget. So I don’t understand why Singaporeans have to squeeze themselves into shoebox units when there are so many housing options. The psf price is so high, yet buyers still have to pay for useless square feet in over-sized balconies, aircon ledges, planters and bay windows. Anyway, if a shoebox unit is so livable and space is not a concern, whey don’t you continue to stay there?
